Goodness gracious, our RSS feed is back on line courtesy of Sean M. Burke -- yes, back after so many, many months. But the line to our bank account is dry and costs are rising. Please, good people, help us with our operating expenses. Support Swans financially. Make a donation. Thank you.

Note from the Editors

Robert Baughman, Jan's father, passed away on November 1, 2012. He was 91. He died of Parkinson's Disease and age. Jan is devastated by the loss of a man she venerated. Bob, besides taking care of the family, loved gardening and flowers. So, in his memory, go to a florist, buy a rose, and give it to your loved one. Remember, life is short and precious. Hurricane Sandy is a good reminder of its fragility. Our thoughts go to the distressed people on the U.S. East Coast and the Caribbean. Go get that rose...

We've mostly sat out this election year and will be glad to have it over in two days, hoping for a brief respite before the 2016 malarkey begins. Meanwhile, if you're one of those baffling "undecided voters," read Harvey Whitney, Jr.'s summary of the candidates and why he too is sitting this one out. Once you've made your decision, check out our New Age Special Edition. We have to admit that when Michael Barker suggested this topic, the reaction was mixed. However, we think you'll agree, whether you're a New Ager or an old one, that the impact this movement has had on society is far reaching, controversial, and sometimes just plain bizarre. Our thanks to Barker for all of his work putting this together, plus his articles on flying saucers, Sir George Trevelyan, the Findhorn Foundation, and Paul Hawken's spiritual business. Other contributors include Manuel García, Jr. on Asian philosophies; Glenn Reed on technology and social interactions; Jason Colavito on Atlantis and aliens; Jan Baughman on New Age geriatrics (cartoon); Peter Byrne on Norman Mailer and counterculture; and Gilles d'Aymery on a defunct New Age foundation. We close with your letters, and our age-old appeal for your generous support in covering our operating expenses.
