"The pursuit of truth and beauty is a sphere of activity in which we are permitted to remain children all of our lives."
--Albert Einstein

In a time of revisionism, faux-semblant, spinning news and skewed information, Swans is about thinking, questioning, observing, and providing ideas that are lacking in the mainstream media.
Swans endeavors to bring food for thought to the readers and to provide a quality literary and political site on the Web.
Swans is a co-operative and collegial effort. We look for people who understand that the only way not to play a game is to not play it; that problems cannot be solved by using the tools and thought processes that were used to create them in the first place.
Swans refuses advertising and condemns the commercialization of the Web. The publication was created in the spring of 1996 by Gilles d'Aymery and is sustained by a team of volunteers.

Robert Louis Stevenson once said that to travel hopefully is a better thing than to arrive. The journey undoubtedly overrides the destination.
