(Swans - September 23, 2013)
sagar husein suhag, 28 years old,
emigrated to palermo, sicily
from bangladesh.
a bike his whole world,
new,
a good reason to live.
then one day they surround him,
try to take the bike,
with shoves and swearing.
and sagar resists
for him the bike is everything.
they stab him.
he is discovered on the ground
in a pool of blood.
now sagar is dead
and his body will return
to his country,
while his spirit wanders
in this place
for a little while yet,
carrying inside his futile dream
to be able to live with dignity.
