Poetry
(Swans - April 6, 2009)
Down, but not out,
the fighter pushes himself
up off the mat.
Staring blindly,
through bloodied eyes,
he tries to swing again,
at a ghost.
The world swirls around.
He is dazed and confused,
yet he is optimistic.
he could still win this thing
before he passes out.
If he is victorious
he will be a hero.
If he fails
he will simply try again.
