Redemption

by Michael Eddins

Poetry

(Swans - July 27, 2009)

Standing with me in this rain,
You look into my soul and feel my pain.
No one ever knows me like you can,
Something I just don't understand.

How is it you still stand by me
When all the world now denies me
The joy and love I used to feel,
The happiness no longer real

Standing with you, now I face the cold
Ready to fight the pain of old.
Our victory will come soon,
Today, death dies at noon.
